How to read the timetable

Stop eating and drinking when the Fajr time begins. Many people finish suhoor about ten minutes earlier as a simple precaution, which is a habit rather than a requirement. Break your fast when the Maghrib adhan is called. Isha is shown 120 minutes after Maghrib, which is the standard Ramadan gap used in Saudi Arabia, and Taraweeh follows Isha in congregation.

How accurate are these times?

We calculated this Jeddah Ramadan Calendar using the Umm Al Qura method: Fajr at 18.5 degrees, Maghrib at sunset and Isha 120 minutes after Maghrib. We then compared the late Ramadan days with a published Saudi city schedule and found differences of no more than a minute. Your local mosque may still differ by one or two minutes, so follow its adhan when you are praying there.

Jeddah Ramadan Timing 2027 and Fasting Hours

The Jeddah Ramadan Timing 2027 changes slowly across the Jeddah Ramadan Calendar because the month falls in February and early March, when days are lengthening. Understanding that pattern helps you plan meals, work and worship.

How long is each fast?

The first fast, on 8 February, lasts about 12 hours and 37 minutes. By 8 March the fast stretches to about 13 hours and 8 minutes. That is roughly 31 minutes longer across the month. For example, on Wednesday, 17 February, suhoor ends at 5:36 am and iftar is at 6:22 pm, so the fast is about 12 hours and 46 minutes.

What changes week by week?

Fajr moves about one minute earlier every three days, and Maghrib moves about one minute later every two to three days. In practice, you wake up slightly earlier for suhoor and wait slightly longer for iftar as Ramadan goes on.

Friday timing

Ramadan 2027 includes four Fridays: 12, 19 and 26 February, and 5 March. Jumuah time is unchanged, but mosques fill early, so leave extra time for parking around busy Jeddah mosques.

Moon Sighting and the Umm Al Qura Method

Saudi Arabia publishes the Umm Al Qura calendar in advance, and the Jeddah Ramadan Calendar follows it, placing 1 Ramadan 1448 on 8 February 2027. The astronomical new moon is calculated for Saturday, 6 February 2027 at 15:56 UTC, according to Moonsighting.com. Because the conjunction happens two days before the first fast, the calendar and the sighting are expected to agree, yet the final decision belongs to the Saudi authorities.

Why the date can move by one day

A lunar month is 29 or 30 days. If the crescent is not confirmed on the 29th evening of Shaban, the month completes 30 days and Ramadan starts a day later. If that happens, shift every date and time in the timetable by one day.

What if Ramadan has 30 days?

The Umm Al Qura table shows 29 days for Ramadan 1448, but the month can reach 30 days if the Shawwal crescent is not confirmed. In that case, Eid would move from 9 March to 10 March. For travel and work leave, wait for the official announcement before making fixed plans.

Quran and Hadith Guidance for Ramadan Timings

The Jeddah Ramadan Calendar is a tool, but the rules of fasting come from revelation. Read more about the month in our guide on what is Ramadan and the rules of fasting in Islam.

Verses from the Quran

Allah says that fasting was prescribed for believers as it was for earlier nations so that they may develop God consciousness (Quran 2:183). He describes Ramadan as the month in which the Quran was sent down as guidance (Quran 2:185). The same chapter explains the daily limits: you may eat and drink until the white thread of dawn becomes clear from the black thread, then complete the fast until night (Quran 2:187). That is exactly why Fajr and Maghrib are the two key columns in the timetable.

Hadith about suhoor and iftar

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that there is blessing in suhoor (Sahih al Bukhari 1923). He also taught that people will remain in good as long as they hasten to break the fast (Sahih al Bukhari 1957). Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that he used to break his fast with fresh dates before praying, and if there were none, with dates or water (Sunan Abi Dawud 2356).

Protect the purpose of the fast

The Prophet (peace be upon him) warned that giving up food and drink is not enough if a person does not give up false speech and bad conduct (Sahih al Bukhari 1903). He also promised forgiveness of past sins for the one who fasts Ramadan with faith and hope for reward (Sahih al Bukhari 38).

Dua when breaking the fast

ذَهَبَ الظَّمَأُ وَابْتَلَّتِ الْعُرُوقُ وَثَبَتَ الأَجْرُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ

Meaning: the thirst has gone, the veins are moist and the reward is confirmed, if Allah wills (Sunan Abi Dawud 2357). For more supplications, see our short guide to the break the fast dua.

Daily Plan Using the Jeddah Ramadan Calendar

A calendar only helps if it fits your day. Here is a simple routine built around the Jeddah Ramadan Calendar, using day 1 as the example.

Suhoor: 4:45 am to 5:35 am

Wake about 55 minutes before Fajr, drink water and eat slow release foods such as oats, eggs, dates, yoghurt and whole grain bread. Avoid very salty food because Jeddah is a humid coastal city, and thirst arrives faster than people expect. Make your intention and pray before the adhan.

Work, school and rest

Saudi labour rules reduce working hours for Muslim employees in the private sector during Ramadan, and many schools change their timetable too. Confirm your own hours with your employer or school through the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development. If your schedule allows, a short rest after Dhuhr helps you stay patient and focused until Asr.

Iftar: from 6:17 pm

Break your fast with dates and water, say the dua, then pray Maghrib before eating a fuller meal. Jeddah families often gather for large iftar meals, so keep your first meal light to leave room for Taraweeh.

Taraweeh and night worship

Isha on day 1 is at 8:17 pm and Taraweeh follows. Many mosques in Jeddah complete the Quran across the month by reciting about one juz each night. Refresh your habits with our guide to how to pray Salah.

The Last Ten Nights of Ramadan in Jeddah

In the Jeddah Ramadan Calendar, the last ten nights begin after Maghrib on Saturday, 27 February 2027. The Prophet (peace be upon him) told Muslims to look for Laylat al Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten (Sahih al Bukhari 2017). The Quran says the Night of Decree is better than a thousand months (Quran 97:3). Our article on Laylat al Qadr explains the signs and recommended worship.

Which nights are the odd nights?

The odd nights are the eves of 21, 23, 25, 27 and 29 Ramadan. Because the Islamic day begins at sunset, the night of 27 Ramadan begins after Maghrib on Friday, 5 March 2027 and ends at Fajr on Saturday, 6 March. Scholars differ on the exact night, so spread your effort across all ten nights rather than relying on one date.

Zakat al Fitr and Eid preparation

Pay Zakat al Fitr before the Eid prayer so that those in need can celebrate too. If you also pay yearly charity in this month, use our Zakat calculator and read the basics on what is Zakat. Eid al Fitr is expected on Tuesday, 9 March 2027, and you can prepare with our Eid al Fitr guide.

Jeddah Ramadan Calendar vs Makkah and Other Saudi Cities

The Jeddah Ramadan Calendar shares its dates with Makkah, since Jeddah sits about 80 kilometres away. Because Jeddah is slightly further west, sunset arrives about two to three minutes later than in Makkah. Compare with our Makkah Ramadan calendar if you plan to pray in the Haram.

Riyadh is further inland and to the east, so its times are about half an hour earlier. In a published Saudi city table, Riyadh shows suhoor at 4:55 am and iftar at 5:56 pm on 4 March 2027, while Jeddah shows 5:25 am and 6:28 pm (Wego Saudi Arabia Ramadan calendar). See our pages for the Riyadh Ramadan calendar, the Madinah Ramadan calendar and the Abu Dhabi Ramadan calendar. For all five daily prayers year round, visit our prayer times page.

Umrah in Ramadan from Jeddah

Many pilgrims land at Jeddah airport and travel on to Makkah, so check the Jeddah Ramadan Calendar before you book. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said that Umrah in Ramadan is equal in reward to Hajj (Sahih al Bukhari 1782). Crowds are heavy, so book transport early, travel after suhoor or after Taraweeh when possible, and keep your permits ready. If you are new to the rites, read our guide on what is Umrah.
