Preparation Before the Eid al-Adha Prayer

1. Perform Ghusl (Ritual Bath)

• It is Sunnah (recommended) to perform Ghusl on the morning of Eid to cleanse the body.

2. Wear Your Best Clothes

• Dress in your cleanest and finest modest clothing (preferably new or freshly washed).

The Eid Prayer

• Listen as the imam recites Surah al-Fatiha and an additional Surah (chapter from the Qur’an).

• Say “Allahu Akbar” and move into ruku (bowing) with the imam, then continue the prayer cycle as usual.

2. Second Rak’ah:

• Recite Al-Fatiha and another Surah: After standing from the bowing position (after the first rak’ah), the Imam again recites Al-Fatiha, followed by another Surah, such as Surah Al-Ghashiya (Chapter 88).
